EVS Romania Volunteering in Europe

“Volunteering in Europe” was a short term European Voluntary Service - EVS project that took place for 2 weeks in October 2013 in two cities in Romania, the beautiful town of Sibiu and the capital, Bucharest.

The project involved 10 young volunteers, sent by the sending and coordinating organization Hammersmith and Fulham Volunteer Centre. The volunteers were hosted by the Chance for Life Foundation from Bucharest, Romania.

Building Partnership in Russia
Feasibility Visit to St. Petersburg


As one of the leading Volunteer Centres in the country, HFVC is further developing volunteering opportunities for local people not just in West London, but also internationally. Through its partnership with Russian organisation Good Deeds Case, they have obtained European funding through the Youth in Action Programme (Action 3.1) for a transnational project to develop innovative forms of citizen participation, for people interested in social entrepreneurship and social change in the European Union.

Celebrating Refugee Community

A riot of colour and dancing marked the culmination of a week-long celebration of the borough’s refugee community. The event took place at the Polish Centre in Hammersmith to mark the end of the annual Refugee Week, a nationwide celebration of diversity and different cultures.
