The Mayor of London meets Personal Best Volunteers in Hammersmith and Fulham.
On Tuesday the 9th February, Boris Johnson visited Nichols Employment Agency in Shepherds Bush to meet with small to medium sized local businesses from around the borough.
Gemma, Natasha and Johnas, three participants from the Hammersmith and Fulham Personal Best project, were invited along to volunteer at the event and got a chance to meet many local business people and political figures as well as the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson himself!
Natasha Hamilton, one of the Personal Best volunteers really enjoyed volunteering at the event. ‘It was great to volunteer at an event where we got the chance to meet such a well known figure as Boris Johnson. As I have just completed the Personal Best course, I was really interested in listening to him talk about the Olympics and how he was going to make sure West Londoners could get involved.’
The Personal Best volunteers spent the afternoon meeting and greeting visitors and giving out refreshments and proved to be invaluable to the smooth running of the event. It was also a great opportunity for the Personal Best graduates to put their newly acquired event volunteering skills to good use. A good day had by all!
